Recently I took 2 weeks of training with Keith Depaul. The results from training with Keith greatly exceeded my expectations. Previously I was on bulb and working for a franchise indoors doing PDR for 3 years and wanted out
. I have recently started my own mobile operation and things are going very well.
The training with Keith has allowed me to be able to work outdoors with awesome results. I highly recommend Keith and his methods of PDR to anyone wanting to start in the industry or for advanced training.

Hello Keith
It has been 6 years now since I took training from you. I just wanted you to know that everything is going great after opening my own business. Your training was exceptional and you lived up to the challenge I presented you. With only 2 weeks of training with you, my skills at paintless dent repair improved way beyond my expectations. Because funds were limited when I first started, I needed to be completely mobile as the cost of renting a shop was unattainable. As a result I presented you with a huge challenge – “Can you train me to repair dents outdoors and be totally mobile”? Well, I can confidently tell you that your words where as good a gold. Keith, you not only supplied me with outstanding training but you also helped me with selecting the proper tools and set me up with the proper fog boards for being a mobile tech.
The most vital part about your training I found was being able to do repairs on actual vehicles in real life situations {not just practice panels}. This was a HUGE advantage and also a major confidence builder when I first started. I get compliments all the time on repairs, customers are simply amazed at the repairs being done. Due to the knowledge I gained from you about P.R.P., my repairs are done quicker and are practically flawless. This has led to greater customer’s satisfaction and increased revenue to my business. With this said now I have the best of both worlds - a shop to do repairs in when the weather does not cooperate or the option of being mobile.
Thanks again for a great and valuable training experience.

Keith, here is an example of the excellent training that you provided me.

Rick,
I just wanted to send you a note to say thanks again for the great job you did repairing the damage I did to the tailgate of my ford explorer. I know you were a little apprehensive taking on the job because of the extent of the damage and where it was located but it looks fantastic and thanks for fixing the other dents on the driver’s side as well.
The short period of time it took was great and the cost was over 2/3rds less expensive than the price I was quoted at a local collision repair shop and I was very happy that I didn’t have to go through insurance and the hassles of matching paint and waiting to locate a used tailgate and renting a replacement car etc...
If you ever need a referral or a testimonial for a customer regarding my experience with paintless dent repair by Dentec, feel free to give me a call.Much appreciated!

I have been lurking on this site for some years now, really not having much to contribute.
I have been doing PDR for about 3 years. I had been steadily progressing but doing larger and more complex dents proved to be overwhelming particularly while working from poor angles, on light coloured paint and tackling dents that were further away and sharper. When working outdoors, the fog light was not working for me even in moderate shade on very light coloured cars. My eyes simply picked up too much glare. I felt frustrated with the limitations that I had with only being able to do dents indoors.
Additionally, I was frustrated that I did not properly understand how and why metal reacts when impacted. I was unsure how to quickly repair the damaged area.
Feeling frustrated at my limitations, I decided to take some training. From whom?! In my search, I came across Dent Revolution’s web site, featuring Mr. Keith de Paul. I had also come across his name on Door Ding . Keith is a Vale National Master Craftsman. In asking around about him, I got very favourable feedback and positive references.
We first spoke over the phone and I found Keith to be very forthcoming with answers to my questions. However his knowledge was such that I could not grasp entirely his terminology and repair philosophy over the phone. It became clear that I needed to spend time with him to fully benefit from his experience.
My one week training took place in a used car lot in Florida. This lot provided and indoor area where Keith and I review theory and practiced on a hood. The used car lot had numerous cars and trucks with dents that I worked on. When the weather was nice, we worked outside and when it rained we worked indoors. Keith had things well planned for the week and worked according to my weaknesses. He quickly customized the class to my needs. I could really feel that Keith was teaching in a way that kept me alert and motivated. I came to his class with so many questions. Once training wash complete, I found that I really did not have to ask them. The answers simply came on their own.
I have to say that after a week of training with Keith, things were so much clearer to me.
I now know how to properly assess a dent, how to best work crowns, how to get to my dent faster with far less needles drilling, better tool selection and much better knock downs. I can move far more metal, up and down, leaving a much smoother finish when I am done, which means that I also sand much less.
After I returned home, I did a few dents. I was amazed that once I had worked the crown there was so little to bring up! I did a 3 inch crease on a rear fender on my first week back home, and it was –3 degrees C outside on a sunny day! I used a heat gun on the fender and a hand spoon to remove the dent. I could see the dent very clearly outside. I saved time by not having to go indoors. It has been 7 weeks since my class and when I am doing dents, it still feels surreal!
All of what I wanted and more was achieved in 5 days. I am much more confident and see things differently than before. My work now comes out cleaner and faster.
Improvements have also occurred at a much different level; my health. Indeed, I can move more metal without feeling the torture I used to. Suffering from a bad back and tennis elbow on both arms, I can now go days without wearing my supports.
I am now where I thought I would be years from now. Which leaves me asking myself: where will I be then ?
Keith proved to be a master in his field, using clear and simple terms in his explanations to fit my learning style. He believes in teaching you so that you may continue to teach yourself.
This was a definite worthwhile investment in my opinion, one which I don’t regret. The return on my investment was felt immediately. Thank you Keith!

"There's no such thing as PULL". What do you mean? I asked. Chico (Emilio Miartuz) took hold at one end of the golf club and with me holding the other, he began to pull the club away from me "hold on tight" he said. As he was doing this, he asked "am I pulling or pushing"?...Huh? "Am I pulling or pushing"? he asked again. "You're pulling" I said. As he pulled, he slowly positioned his body so that eventualy his back was to me all the while asking if he was "pulling or pushing". The golf club is now over his right shoulder and he is clearly "pushing" his end of the club away from himself, yet I'm being "pulled" toward him. "Am I pulling or pushing"? he asked for the last time. I just stood there, scratching my head.
When DID pull become push? When does uncommon sense become common sense? When does unconventional wisdom become THE conventional wisdom?
Challenging your beliefs can be unsettling.
Most of what I know about PDR I learned from (A Very Large Dent Co.) and years "in the field". These techniques have served me well, but I wanted to get faster. What makes the difference between a good tech and a good, fast tech?
Economy of motion: Moving the most amount of metal with the least amount of pushes. Sound simple, right? But if that metal isn't ready to move "it aint moving" at least not without damaging the paint.
It's all about the pressure: Nature takes the path of least resistance and creating this path for your dent to take is the secret.
I believe there are only a handful of people who truly understand how to create this "path of least resistance". The very large PDR Co.’s "philosophy" is flawed, therefore their methods are flawed. Oh yeah, they use tools to push metal up and knockdowns, master tools and hammers to move metal around, but it's the "when and where" that are 180 degress out of phase. Their (Large Co.) wisdom is of the "common" variety.
Keith DePaul's wisdom is of the UNcommon variety. Keith challenges the "establishment" with his dedication to research and development to find a "better way" and after spending time with Keith, I believe He is on to something groundbreaking.
I don’t care who you are or what skill level your at, spend some time with Keith and you will walk away scratching your head.
Remember, challenging your beliefs can be unsettling.

............Seriously though, Keith will challenge you and will challenge you to challenge yourself.
Some of you that have taken advantage of Keith`s knowledge have maybe been pushing dents for a considerably longer period of time than I had before I took a weeks training with KDP, so maybe you were more set in your ways/methods.
Consequently, his teaching methods and the `tricks` he shows you may be more `enlightening` than they were to me. I didn`t know shnit when I went to Keith (as became apparent after day 1.lol.), so everything he showed me I thought to be `de riguer` in the dent fixing business.
The more I read these posts and talk to other dent guys, the more I realise how much he did teach me during that week.
I learned more in 5 days than I had learned in a year of pushing dents and reading every scrap of info I could find on the internet, these pages included.
Keith is not only `my` trainer, he has also become a friend.

I just spend several days taking Mr. KDP's Advanced Training course. First, I would like to thank Keith for taking the time to give the course. As a 9 year plus tech I was surprised at how much there was still to learn. I was at the point in my PDR career that I was taking on advanced repairs and many would come out pretty good at least good enough to get paid. But now after the advanced training my repairs are 100% better than before. I now have more confidence and skills to take my PDR to new levels that my competitors will find hard too match. I highly recommend for all of you seasoned techs to take KDP's Advanced Training, there is still much to learn and it is money well invested. I also had the opportunity to train along side with Mr. Kevin Latham of Fix Your Dents from the State of Washington, a great tech and good guy, welcome to our PDR community.

I couldn't agree with Darryl more..... KDP's class was basically what I had been looking for in going to training. I'd been to advanced training somewhere else already, but it was nothing close to what KDP's course was about. Keith's training is head and "shoulders" above the rest! (that's not a height joke, Keith!)
Darryl, thanks for being a great "host" and KDP, thanks for giving and showing us so much information. I am very happy with the training I received, and feel like I've been "let in" on information and an approach that will make a huge difference in my repairs - and already has on my "test" dent.
An essential element to good training is that the instructor wants the student to grasp the training and be successful. Keith has that quality and makes the training fun and interesting. You're a good person, Keith.
